This Coot seemed so intent on disturbing the mirrored surface of the water - perhaps it didn't like the reflection.
Lapwings over Fiskerton Fen, Lincolnshire.
Swallows in flight are difficult to shoot so I am pleased to have got these.
Entomological photographs are not normally something that I take but I
saw this caterpillar which I understand will become a Drinker Moth. I thought I would add this shot of a Peacock Butterfly taken recently.
A Wren at Fiskerton Fen Nature Reserve, Lincolnshire.
Grey Heron over Fiskerton Fen, Lincolnshire.
A Blackbird taking some Lincolnshire Sausage, home for the children.

The articles I include in this personal Blog will include a varied range of subjects that interest me. They will predominantly relate to the United Kingdom (my homeland), Spain and Europe. Any opinions I express will probably not be too contentious, however they are mine and not that of any organisation or group of which I am a member.

If you wish to add a comment to any of my articles please do so as I am always pleased to have a contribution from any reader as this increases the interest for other visitors.

Photograph Gallery week ending 17 May 2015
It has been two weeks since I published any photographs as I have been unwell so couldn't get out and about. I hope you enjoy these.
Flaps down, landing gear being lowered, it's committed and aiming for some bread on our lawn.
The next three photographs were taken at RSPB Langford Lowfields, Nottinghamshire.
These two Oystercatchers didn't seem to be able to agree which way to go. You can see that one of them has been ringed.
Greylag Goose.
Mute Swan safe landing.

Photograph Gallery two weeks ending 30 April 2015.
A Little Egret over RSPB Frampton Marsh.
Avocet at RSPB Frampton Marsh.
Great Crested Grebe at RSPB Frampton Marsh.
House Sparrow collecting material to make his comfortable for her & the fledglings.
Black-headed Gulls at Whisby Nature Reserve, Lincoln.
Chaffinch pauses before going to the seed feeder.
Whilst I was at the Whisby Nature Reserve, Lincoln, several bird-watchers (twitchers) and photographers I met asked me if I had spotted the three or four Mediterranean Gulls amongst the hundreds of Black-headed Gulls. Well I couldn't be unsuccessful so these two photographs show I did spot three of them; I couldn't find the fourth one. The Mediterranean Gull has black head hood-marking whereas the Black-headed Gull has a smaller brown head hood-marking – confusing. No prize but can you spot the difference.

Mallard. Taken on 2015-03-10 at Lo Pagán, Murcia province, Spain.
One of our squirrel garden visitors having a leisurely breakfast.
A Reed Bunting has recently become a regular visitor to our garden.
Starlings are not everyone's darlings.
Practising bird-in-flight photography in my garden when this unusual specimen flew by.
Synchronization – focus could have been tighter but it was practice with my new Canon 70D.
