Whilst I was at the Whisby Nature Reserve, Lincoln, several bird-watchers (twitchers) and photographers I met asked me if I had spotted the three or four Mediterranean Gulls amongst the hundreds of Black-headed Gulls. Well I couldn't be unsuccessful so these two photographs show I did spot three of them; I couldn't find the fourth one. The Mediterranean Gull has black head hood-marking whereas the Black-headed Gull has a smaller brown head hood-marking – confusing. No prize but can you spot the difference.
