Is there a limit to how far we go with post-processing?

We (photographers) normally like to show our finished/perfected images but I thought I would post something different.

These images are an ongoing exercise in learning/familiarization about how post-processing with Lightroom 6 editing program can turn a definite pig's ear into something resembling an artificial-silk/nylon purse.

The first image is straight out of the camera (SOOC).

This second is after just a crop and an increase in the exposure level.

The following two have received the same full makeover with the exception of the treatment of the sky.

I enjoyed playing with the program and have learnt some new techniques.

Is there a limit to how far we go with post-processing?

Normal service will be resumed from now on.
